the second year.

Monday was our 2nd wedding anniversary.
Year two was different than year one, but every bit as wonderful.
Here's a recap.
We went to Tulsa for a beautiful wedding,
found out we were expecting a baby,
went to Northern Ireland for two weeks for another beautiful wedding,
went camping at an awesome swimming hole,
went to the lake with family for Labor day,
told our family we were having a baby,
found out that our little baby was a boy,
went to the Great Smokey Mountains,
put our Christmas tree up on November 6th,
I turned 24,
traveled to our Missouri/Arkansas for Thanksgiving,
traveled to Missouri/Arkansas for Christmas,
had two sweet baby showers,
attended birthing classes,
documented a BIG baby belly,
made lots of smoothies,
went for plenty of walks,
Jonny started a new job,
Janaye stopped working,
we brought the sweet baby boy into the world on March 25,
moved into a new apartment,
Jonny turned 26.

Monday we went for a long walk and took some family pictures.
In the evening Jonny and I went on a date, without Owen!
It was our first time to be alone together in the eight weeks since Owen was born.
It felt so weird to not have my baby in my arms or even in the same room.
It was just what we needed, a yummy meal of sushi and then a slice of cheesecake.
The best part, of course was my date!
I felt like it was the summer of 2009 and Jonny and I were so young and so so in love!
Of course, we still are both of those things, but it was like it was happening all over again.
I have loved being married to this man.

Two Months of Marriage

Whoa. We've been married 2 months already, time is flying.

We are settling back into life in Louisville, Jonny has picked up several shifts at the Seminary's cafe and I'm still looking for a job.
In the meantime, we've made a quaint little home for ourselves here in this basement (pictures soon)! Yesterday, I ironed a bedskirt (also known as a dust ruffle, I know this because I've bought 2 (and returned 1) in the past 3 days). If ironing a bedskirt doesn't make me sound like a very married woman, I don't know what does.

Everyone keeps asking me how marriage is going, and seem surprised when I tell them that I'm absolutely loving it! I mean, why wouldn't I? Jonny and I are two sinners, saved by grace and brought back to God by his loving kindness, through the righteousness of Christ. So anytime we annoy each other, which does happen, we can forgive one another knowing we've been pardoned by God on account of Christ's work on the cross. We are learning more about each other everyday, growing (by God's grace) in patience and understanding.
*Like when I spent nearly an hour picking out that bedskirt (only to return it the next day) and Jonny just smiled and let me take my time.

Thank you Jonny for being crazy enough to marry me.
One of our very first pictures together, two years ago next month. Thankfully, that beard is gone.

Mr. & Mrs. Atkinson

On May 20th Jonny and I became husband and wife. It was a beautiful day (more details to come). Since then we've enjoyed a two week honeymoon in Crete where we soaked up a lot, I mean A LOT of sun. We are now visiting Jonny's parents in Northern Ireland for a few weeks before we return to real life in Louisville.

We'll be getting some wedding pictures soon from the very talented, Julia Black. You can find a sneak peek here,
